Have People Reached The Point Where They Expect Star Ratings From Movie Reviews?

What counted as excellent a few years ago can become normal surprisingly fast. Should a good experience with star ratings now be treated as a basic standard for movie reviews?

Good review systems need room for criticism without making manipulation or unsupported claims too easy.
